Brent De Lange was born on January 13, 1958 to Marlowe and Elmira (Vanden Bos) De Lange. Brent attended school in Armour, Platte, and Hope Haven in Rock Valley, IA. He grew up on a farm near Harrison. He loved his dogs and helping with the tasks and chores of farm life. He was very proud of the fact that he worked twenty years for the Coca-Cola Bottling Company in Mitchell.
He also lived in the Corsica and Lennox Good Samaritan Homes, and at the Center for Independence in Huron. His life was touched by the many people that cared for him.
Brent had a huge heart for his family and friends, and enjoyed spending time with them. For hobbies, he loved keeping his cars washed and polished. He enjoyed going for car rides in the country to see the crops and animals. Any "green" piece of machinery was usually spotted and was brought to our attention. He loved John Deeres!
He was a member of the Harrison Christian Reformed Church and loved singing the old traditional hymns.
Brent passed away on November 7, 2019 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls with family by his side. In just the few days he was there, he was touched by many on their staff. They commented that Brent also left an impact on their lives.
Grateful for having shared his life are his siblings: Dotty Koupal (Dave Pollard) of Hendricks, MN, Darrell of Glendive, MT, Rod and Jean of Corsica, SD, his twin sister, Brenda and Doug Van Zee of Canton, SD and Kristi Sachs (Eric Marsh) of Minneapolis, MN. "Uncle B" was very proud of his 13 nephews and nieces: Carrie, Lindsay, Alisa, Jenny, Trisha, Chelsea, Preston, Megan, Kori, Mitch, Joshua, Justin and Jared; and 14 great-nephews and nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents and infant niece.
