Dennis Arthur Beukelman, 81 passed away Thursday, May 11, 2017 at the Dougherty Hospice House in Sioux Falls, SD. He died peacefully after a long struggle with Parkinson's. A celebration of life will be held at Oak Hills Baptist Church, 6201 South Lyncrest Ave, Sioux Falls, on Monday, May 15, 2017 at 2:00 PM with burial at Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-7 PM Sunday at the church with a prayer service and time of sharing immediately following.

Dennis A. Beukelman was born July 16, 1935 to Art and Rena (Menning) Beukelman. He was baptized and made profession of faith in the Harrison Reformed Church, Harrison, SD. Dennis attended school in Corsica, SD. On May 28, 1954 he married the love of his life Lillian Meyerink in Platte, SD. To this union three children were born.

They farmed around Corsica and Harrison until they moved to Sioux Falls in 1985. In 1976 Dennis started and was co-owner of the Corsica "Our Own" hardware store and DeLaval dairy systems. In 1989 they purchased Qualified Presort Mail Services along with Dwight and Deb. They retired from QPS in 1997. He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren fishing, boating and camping. In his earlier years Dennis also enjoyed hunting and playing softball with the Harrison married team. Dennis and Lillian spent many (14) winters in Mesa, AZ. during retirement.

We praise God for Dennis' unfailing devotion to his belief in Jesus. We praise God for his witness to others and how he has brought many to faith. We praise God for his faithfulness to so many generations. Well done good and faithful servant, a crown of righteousness awaits you.

Dennis lived out his faith by leading Navigator Bible studies around the Corsica area and South Dakota State University. Dennis and Lillian served as short term missionaries in Liberia, West Africa with Sudan Interior Missions. He also served as an Agricultural Consultant in Mongolia with AMONG Missions.

Grateful for having shared in Dennis' life are his wife of 62 years Lillian, his son Dwight (Deb) Beukeman, Sioux Falls and their daughters Tiffany (Steve) Pope, Shoreview, MN - Brittany (Drew) Foley, Rapid City, SD, son Tanner, Sioux Falls, SD; Daughter Cheryl (Randy) Tisher, Faulkton, SD, and their daughters Autumn (Joe) Ansell, Sioux Falls, SD - Kamaria (Jason) Serfling, Sturgis, SD - Vanessa (Kyle) Bowman, Faulkton, SD - Megan (Casey) Hlavacek, Faulkton, SD; Son Doug (Kristi) Beukelman, Sioux Falls, SD, their daughters, MacKenzie (Nathan) Reynolds, Omaha, NE - Stephanie (Mason) Landon, Dayton, OH; 17 great grand-children and one sister, Erma Klein, Platte, SD.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Art and Rena, his sister Ruth (Beukelman) Hoekstra and brothers-in-law Sid Hoekstra and Bob Klein.
