Elmira De Lange, 79, Corsica, died Tuesday, Nov. 24, 2009, at Sanford Medical Center, Sioux Falls.
Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Christian Reformed Church, Harrison. Burial will be in Harrison Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. today, with a 7:30 p.m. prayer service at Mount Funeral Home, Platte.
She was born on June 5, 1930 in Platte to Henry and Nellie (Visscher) Vanden Bos.
She grew up there and graduated from Platte High School.
On Jan. 11, 1950, she married Marlowe De Lange in Platte.
She was a member of Harrison Christian Reformed Church, Esther Circle, Ladies Aid, New Holland Christian Grade School Auxiliary, Dakota Christian School Auxiliary and DCHS Foster Grandparent Program. She participated in Crossroads Prison Ministry Program, recently receiving an award for her years of service. She also belonged to Women’s Farm Bureau.
She is survived by her husband, children: Dorothy Koupal , Sioux Falls; Darrell , Glendive, Mont.; Rod and wife Jeanne; and Brent, all of Corsica; Brenda Van Zee and husband Doug, Canton; and Kristi and Bill Sachs, Brainerd, Minn.; 13 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, a sister, Bernice Jaeger and husband Harold, Geddes; a brother, John Vanden Bos and wife Carol, Platte; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by an infant granddaughter and her parents.
