Christina "Jane" Ommen

Christina "Jane" Ommen, 83, died Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston. Funeral service will be Saturday, February 18, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the United Church of Christ in Armour with burial following at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Armour. Visitation will be Friday, February 17, 2012 from 6 - 8 PM at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour with a prayer service at 7:00 PM.

Christina "Jane" Ommen was born on February 2, 1929 in Brule County, SD to Joseph and Francis (Mashek) Kubik. She attended country school in Brule County. On January 7, 1950 she married Clifford Ommen in Chamberlain, SD. They moved to a farm near Corsica in 1963. Cliff died on March 17, 1983. Jane remained on the farm for the rest of her life. She was a member of the United Church of Christ and Womens Fellowship in Armour, SD, Douglas County Extension Club, and was a 4-H Leader. She enjoyed her horses, gardening, needle work, rock collecting, and spending time with her family. She died at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston on February 15, 2012 at the age of 83.

She is survived by 3 children: Michael (Michelle) Ommen of Mitchell, SD; Gail Boltjes of Steen, MN; and Judy (Bruce) Hartman of Worthing, SD; 9 grandchildren: Elizabeth (Cole) Irish of Kasson, MN; Nancy (Karl) Heldberg of Cleveland, MN; Brian (Jessica) Ommen of Eden Prairie, MN; Jeffery (Deb) Boltjes of Ellsworth, MN; Cindy (Joel) Farrell of Ellsworth, MN; Ryan Boltjes of Steen, MN; Eric Boltjes of Luverne, MN; Wendy (Mike) Roeder of Valley Springs, SD; and Amanda O'Brien of Sioux Falls, SD; 16 great-grandchildren: Mindy and Melanie Roeder; Zoey and Iva Jane O'Brien; Hanna Hieronimus; Caitlin, Avery, and Brooks Irish; Kade, Sean, and Cole Boltjes; Alexia and Adrienne Boltjes, and Garrett, Luke, and Gretchen Heldberg, sister, Clara Erickson of Illinois, 2 sisters-in-law, Lucille Kubik of Chamberlain, SD and Myrna Kubik of Mitchell, SD, and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford, parents, sisters, Henrietta, Bessie, Rosey, Ella, and Stacy, and brothers, Eddie, Johnny, Robert, and Joseph.
