Janet Bartelt

Janet Darlene Bartelt, 79, died at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston, SD. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2015 at 10:30 AM at Our Savior Lutheran Church in Corsica with burial following at Parkston Protestant Cemetery in Parkston. Visitation will be Friday, September 4, 2015 from 5 - 7 PM at Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Parkston with a prayer service at 7:00 PM. Arrangements by Koehn Bros. Funeral Home in Armour.

Janet Darlene Bartelt was born on December 22, 1935 to Milton and Lenora (Juhnke) Winter in Parkston, SD. She graduated from Parkston High School in 1954. She married Werner Bartelt on January 27, 1957 at Salem United Church of Christ in Parkston. Janet worked as a secretary for "Mail Me Monday", a bookkeeping and tax service in Mitchell, SD. They farmed in the Parkston area until 1960 when they moved to Corsica where they farmed until 2005 when they retired. Janet was a church and Sunday School pianist, Sunday School and Bible School teacher in the various churches that she was a member. She was a present member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Corsica. She enjoyed raising flowers, reading, sewing and embroidery, refunding and rummaging, and typing letters, many to grandchildren during their military service. She died on Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at Avera St. Benedict Hospital in Parkston at the age of 79.

She is survived by her husband, Werner of Corsica, SD, 2 daughters, Debra (Alan) Nagel of Lamont, OK and Darcy Wright of Corsica, SD, grandchildren, Tiffany Nagel and son, Aidan of Columet, OK, Jason Nagel of Denver, CO, Jeremy (Natalie) Wright and children, Paige, Carter, and Connor of Corsica, SD, Aaron (Barbara) Wright and son, Tatum of Corsica, SD, and Daniel (Leila) Wright and children, Collin, Caroline, Gabriel, and Avery of Sioux Falls, SD, and brothers, Marlyn (Janice) Winter of Sioux Falls, SD and Dennis (Pam) Winter of Mooresville, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents and son-in-law, Mark Wright.
