Wilma Margaret Brink, 92, Corsica, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at Avera St. Benedict Hospital, Parkston. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Grace Reformed Church, Corsica with burial following in Harrison City Cemetery, Harrison. Koehn Bros. Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

She was born May 21, 1917, to Hubert and Lena (Verrips) Kleyne near Boyden, Iowa, where she also grew up and attended country school.

She met Abe Brink, her future husband, when he came to Iowa to work as a farmhand. They were married June 2, 1936 in Boyden, Iowa.

A drought caused them to quit farming and move to California where he was employed by General Motors. In 1938 they returned to Harrison and farmed for several years and later moved back to the family farm in Iowa where they farmed until 1952. That same year they bought their farm near Corsica where they worked until retiring in 1973. She was a member of Grace Reformed Church.

She is survived by her six children: Donna Oliver and husband, Don; Philip; Larry and wife, Mary, Huron; Darrell and wife Ann, Sioux Falls; Sharon Menning and husband Virgil, Britton; Merle and wife, Connie, Bismarck, N.D.; and Jan Van Genderen and husband Kevin, Corsica; 19 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great-grandchildren; four step-great-great-grandchildren; and three sisters: Margaret, Esther and Leona.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; an infant son, Merlin; four brothers-in-law and two sisters-in-law.
