Troy Lefers

Troy Lefers, age 44, of Lennox SD, passed away, from an apparent pulmonary embolism, on March 14, 2024, at his home.

 Troy Dale Lefers was born on February 14, 1980, at Mitchell, SD, the son of Lawrie and Beverly (Hubers) Lefers. He grew up attending New Holland Christian School and then graduated from Dakota Christian High School, New Holland, SD. He went on to earn a degree in HVAC from Southeast Technical Institute, Sioux Falls, SD in 2002. He began a life long career in HVAC at Central Heating and Cooling in Sioux Falls and then owned and operated Lefer's Heating and Cooling, Chancellor.

 On October 5, 2002, he was united in marriage to Melissa VanZee at Platte, SD. Three sons were born to this union. He lived in Sioux Falls, Worthing and Chancellor. Troy had recently moved to Lennox.

 Troy was a member of Chancellor Reformed Church. In younger days he enjoyed hunting. Troy liked to camp and attend concerts. He especially enjoyed attending his son's sporting and school activities. Troy was loved and deeply loved his family. 

 He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrie and one brother, Paul. 

 Grateful for having shared his life are his three sons: Denver Lefers, Emory Lefers and Jevyn Lefers all of Lennox; his mother, Beverly Lefers, Corsica; siblings: Keith (Leanne) Lefers, Lennox, Kevin (Marissa) Lefers, Corsica, Carla (Tom) Prinsen, Sioux Center, IA and Janel (Nick) Menning, Mitchell; many nieces, nephews, other extended family and a host of friends.

Services will begin 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at Chancellor Reformed Church, Chancellor, SD. Fellowship time will follow and then approximately 2:00 p.m. burial in the Harrison Cemetery, Harrison, SD. Visitation, with the family present, will be 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, at Chancellor Reformed Church. The service will be live streamed via the Chancellor Reformed Church Facebook page.
