Brandon was born June 23, 1978 to David and Ann (Martin) Scholten in Parkston, SD.  He grew up in Corsica and attended Corsica High School, graduating in 1996.  While in high school, he was a CNA and worked at the Good Samaritan Center in Corsica.  He attended Mitchell Technical Institute in Mitchell, SD and graduated with a degree in Satellite Communications.  He worked for a communications company in Plano, TX and for the Department of Defense, both of which took him to all corners on the globe.  Brandon was a caring and giving person who loved to help anyone needing it.  He enjoyed golfing and playing baseball, and was a Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Twins fan.

Grateful for having shared his life are his parents, David and Ann Scholten of Corsica; a brother, Shane (Joy) Scholten of Sioux Falls, SD; and nieces and nephews, Hailey, Sierra and Ethan Scholten, John Heath and Hannah Sullivan.

He was preceded in death by a half-sister, Marla Kiser and his grandparents, Roy and Ada Lee Scholten and Dean and Pauline Martin.
