Her favorite song was, “I Love to Tell the Story,” and she certainly did tell it! Anna Mae taught Sunday School when she was young and Catechism classes for 25 years. She also worked with Crossroads Ministry and wrote over 700 letters to prisoners after reviewing their Bible lesson. She was active in many church Bible studies and women’s groups. She volunteered at the Good Samaritan Society helping the residents with anything from writing and reading letters to fixing their hair. Both Anna Mae and Marion spent their last years at the Good Samaritan Society Home and were cared for by loving and capable staff.
She loved her family, children, and grandchildren. She enjoyed knitting for them, and her home was filled with their pictures.
Anna Mae is survived by her three children: Linda (Larry) Graybill, Judy (Tom) Veldkamp, and Scott (Brenda) Veurink; seven grandchildren: Matthew (Beth) Graybill, SheyLea (Ryan) Brusca, Chris Veldkamp, Brad (Beth) Veldkamp, Jody (David) Nour, Randy (Katie) Veurink, and Logan (Chelsea) Veurink, and nineteen great-grandchildren; and her sister Irene Spoelstra.
Anna Mae was preceded in death by an infant daughter Carol Lou, her husband Marion, and her siblings Elvinah Zweir, Dale and Sherm Spoelstra.
