Ronda Faye Hollander, 59, went to her heavenly
home after her courageous battle with cancer on Monday, December 1, 2025 at
Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD at the age of 59 surrounded by her
husband, both daughters, and grandsons. Funeral service will be Monday,
December 8 at 11:00 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at the Christian
Reformed Church in Corsica.
Ronda was born on February 13, 1966 in Parkston, SD to Leonard and Ruby Lou (Ligtenberg) DeVries. Growing up on a family farm north of Harrison, she attended Markus Country School. After the closing of Markus, she finished elementary school in Corsica and graduated from Corsica High School in 1984. She was united in marriage to Timothy J. Hollander on June 29, 1985.
Her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant began at the Good Samaritan Center in Corsica for several years, later continuing at the Port Angeles Hospital when they moved to Port Angeles, WA during Tim’s service in the U.S. Coast Guard. After returning to Corsica, she worked at various healthcare facilities to include Douglas County Memorial Hospital, Statz Drug Home Health Care (10 years), an Ophthalmic Assistant with Mabee Eye Clinic (22 years), and spent her last years as an Ophthalmic Assistant with Visioncare Associates.
Ronda was deeply involved in her faith, serving as a Sunday school teacher, attending services at Harrison Church’s and later at the Christian Reformed Church and Grace Reformed Church in Corsica. She had a passion for her birds and antiques, was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and loved to ride her Harley and attend the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. She was well known for her baking, cupcakes, and decorating cakes for friends and family. She was also particularly known for her love of crafts, was one of the organizers of the Corsica Craft Fair, and a local Norwex Sales Consultant. Most of all, she loved her family, especially her grandsons, and looked forward to trips to Colorado and Alaska to see them.
Grateful to have shared her life are her husband, Tim of Corsica; 2 daughters: Rantelle (Mike) Maffucci of Wetmore, CO and Tawnielle (Dan) Frick stationed at Eielson Air Force Base, AK; 3 grandsons, Traedyn Dean, Jackson Reid, and Jarrett Daniel; 5 siblings: Lewis (Pauline) DeVries of Plankinton, SD, Lowell (Elaine) DeVries of Corsica, LeRon (ReVay) DeVries of Corsica, Ruth Airheart of Custer, SD, and Roxann (LaRon) Gerlach of Plankinton; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Janelle Ruby.
