Harlan Wolbrink

Harlan J. Wolbrink, 74, went to his heavenly home Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at Avera Heart Hospital in Sioux Falls. Funeral service will be Saturday, April 11 at 10:30 am, with visitation beginning at 9:30 am, at Harrison Community Church in Harrison.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to either the Harrison Community Church or Harrison Cemetery Association.

Harlan was born May 26, 1951 to John and Marie (Dykshorn) Wolbrink in Armour, SD.  He grew up on the family farm near Corsica, SD and attended Marcus Country School near there.  He graduated from Corsica High School in 1969 and then attended the University of South Dakota at Springfield where he graduated with a degree in education. He was united in marriage to Bonnie Jendersee on August 27, 1971 at St. John Lutheran Church at Hillside.  Harlan taught business classes for Armour High School for 3 years where he also coached track. Harlan and Bonnie made their home on the farm near Corsica where Harlan farmed and raised cattle.  He was a member of Harrison Community Church where he was also an elder and deacon and taught Sunday School.  He loved to take long drives through the countryside and was a member of the Corsica School and REA Boards and worked for the Corsica Sale Barn as well as the Mitchell Livestock Exchange.

Grateful for having shared his life are his wife, Bonnie of Corsica; 4 children:  Tammy (Heath) Swanson of Rock Valley, IA; Stephanie (Chris) Skaar of Champaign, IL; Chad (Toby Clark) Wolbrink of Denver, CO; and Ryan (Stephanie) Wolbrink of Sioux Falls; 7 grandchildren: Keely (Eric) Salazar, Trey Swanson, Alyssa Skaar, Derek Skaar, Jaxson Wolbrink, Karah Wolbrink and Grady Wolbrink; a great-grandson, Scottie Salazar; and 2 sisters, Irene (Matt) Huismann of Springfield and Mary (Dennis) Neugebauer of Corsica.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
