Briggs Niewenhuis

Briggs Lee Niewenhuis went to be with the Jesus on October 24, 2026. Briggs was born in Mitchell, SD on December 16, 2018 to Lee and Amber (Baan Hofman) Niewenhuis. Briggs was an amazing, loving brother to his sisters, Jaela and Blayke and brother Decker.

Briggs was a 2nd grade student at Corsica/Stickney school. Briggs was baptized and brought up in the New Holland CRC, where he also attended Sunday School. He also attended Awana in Corsica. He was part of the summer baseball team. 

Briggs was all boy, he loved anything that involved hunting, fishing, or sports. More than anything, Briggs loved animals, any animal became a pet for him. He spent a lot of his time building pens, feeding, and caring for any animal that was brought home.

Briggs loved shooting his BB gun, trapping, and fishing. He spent countless hours at uncle Shane's farm, fishing at the pond and raising animals in the barn.

Briggs loved hanging out with friends and was always asking to ride his bike over to see what the neighbor kids were doing. Briggs loved camping and swimming; he spent most of his summer at the pool or river. He loved watching the Minnesota Vikings and Timberwolves. Briggs' smile could light up any room and will be greatly missed by many.

Briggs was survived by; his parents, Lee and Amber Niewenhuis. His siblings, Jaela, Blayke and Decker. His grandma, Jody (Overweg) Niewenhuis. His Uncle and Aunt; Shane and Traci Niewenhuis (Ryder, Lane, Aspen) His Aunt and Uncle Anthony and Josie Dehaan (Audrey, Zoey, Maley, Sasha, Indey) Aunt and Uncle; Russ and Haley Vander Pol (Brianna, Oakley, Dani) His grandparents; Larry and Brenda (Hubers) Baan Hofman. His Uncle and Aunt Travis and April Van Dyke (Oakley, Rogan, Parker) His aunt and uncle; Brandon and Amy Hislop (Brantlee, Tayson, Kyler) His Aunt; Abbi Baan Hofman. His great grandmas Lorrena (Overweg) Vreugdenhil and Arlene (Delange) Baan Hofman

He was proceed in death by his grandpa; Dan Niewenhuis. His aunt Marlee Niewenhuis. His great grandparents; Marvin and Marguerite Hubers, Marlyn Overweg, Gene and Evie Niewenhuis, Lenoard Baan Hofman.
